Power of confession

 

  Every man is what he confesses. Authority is a function of spoken word. What you say about your system or body everyday is what you will witness. A man that has headache due to st4ss he was subjected to, if he confesses malaria, he will surely experience it.

     "Death and life are in the power of tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." Proverb 18:21.

   The fruit of your confession is your healing. Devil is always waiting for what will come out of the believer's mouth and uses it against him. Even when you are s sick to the point of death, refuse to agree with the devil. Always confess the positivity of your situation and back it up with the word of God. When you confess the word of God regularly about your situation, it will enter your spirit and become real. It will then manifest in your life. The shunamite woman whose son was afflicted with headache, was still confessing positively even when her son was dying on her laps.

    "And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reaper. And he said unto his father "my head, my head!" so he said to a servant, "carry him to his mother". And when he had taken him and brought him to his mother, 'HE SAT ON HER KNEES TILL NOON AND THEN DIED'. 2 kings 4:18-20.

   Despite the hopeless situation, even when death is involved, the shunamite woman refused to confess negatively when Elisha asked her what the issue was.

   "Run now, I pray thee to meet her, and say unto her, 'is it well with thee. Is it well with your husband. Is it well with your child, and she answered it is well. 2 kings4:26.

            Mystery of the anointing.

  Anointing oil is a divine medium through which the Holy spirit works wonders.  People were anointed with oil to signify God's blessing or call of God on them.

   "And you shall take the anointing oil, pour it on his head, and anoint him." Exodus 29:7.

   In anointing a person with oil, we only need to be sure that the purpose of the anointing is in agreement with the scripture.

   The oil itself does not have any power. It is only God that can anoint a person for specific purpose through his anointed. If we use oil, it is only a symbol of what God is doing. It is not the power. Jesus Christ was anointed by God with the holy spirit to spread the good news, free the oppressed by the devil and to heal the sick.

   Jesus said,

   "The spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed." Luke 4:18.

    When Jesus ascended unto the father, he sent the gifts of the holy spirit to his disciples as the elders of the church and promised greater works than his

    "Most assuredly I say to you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also: and greater works than these he will do, because i go to my father." John 14:12.

   "And it shall come to pass in that day that his burden shall be taken away from your shoulder and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing." Isaiah10:27.

    Anointing with oil was a biblical practice which continues till today. In the bible, people, places and things were anointed with holy oil to consecrate or set apart or dedicate for the use of the creator.

   Anointing with oil is like turning on a signal flame to the heavens. It tells the angels to give you special attention during their time.

   The lord explained to Moses, his to prepare a holy anointing oil for anointing the tabernacle, all of the religious objects used in it and the priests. Exodus 30:23-35.

   The main ingredient is the olive oil which has secular and sacred purposes.

  The olive tree is very important in secular life. It is used for oil lamps, cooking etc. In religious life, the bible describes the olive tree as a symbol of peace and prosperity since the time the dove returned to Noah's ark with an olive branch. Olive tree epitomizes the spirit of the lord and for that reason alone, it was forbidden to cut it down in ancient time.

    Today's, quality anointing oil is generally made from olive oil, pure myrrh and frankincense don't ever think about using any synthetic substitute.

  "And the Lord said to Moses: "Take sweet spices, state and onycha and galbanum and pure frankincense with these sweet spices; there shall be equal amounts of each. You shall make of these an incense, a compound according to the art of the perfumer, salted, pure and holy. And you shall beat some of it very fine, and put some of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of meeting where I will meet with you. It shall be most holy to you. But as for the incense which you shall make, you shall not make any for yourselves, according to it's composition. It shall be to you holy for the Lord. Whoever makes any like it, to smell it, he shall be cut off from his people." Exodus 30:34-38.

  "Is any among you afflicted let him pray, is any merry let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick. Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committee sins, he will be forgiven." James 5:13-15.

   The bible emphasises the elders of the church. The elders of the church are the people with great understanding and good relationship with God. They are to pray and anoint the sick.
